The neurological ward is diagnosed and treated for diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system.
The Department of Neurology has 10 beds in 5 rooms, each with its own bathroom.
The department has a contract with RHIF on the following clinical pathways:
• Ischemic stroke without thrombolysis
• Parenchymal brain haemorrhage.
• Subarachnoid haemorrhage.
• Cranial-brain nerve diseases (CNS), nerve roots and plexuses, polyneuropathy from drugs, porphyrin polyneuropathy and Gilen-Barre polyneuropathy, immunoglobulin-free, and ventricular ventilation. Disturbance of the peripheral nerves.
• Diabetic polyneuropathy.
• Vertebrate disk and disc-acticular non-root and root pain syndromes.
Paid intake and treatment of patients at well-established prices for a number of other diseases is also being carried out.
Taking of patients:
Emergency and planned patients are enrolled in the compartment. Their review and planning is done in the diagnostic consulting room, which is housed in Diagnostic Consulting Centre Avis Medica. There are also check-ups after hospital treatment.
The diagnosis and treatment of the patients admitted to the department is carried out in full according to the contemporary requirements, with strict observance of the patients' rights and the rights of good medical practice.
Diagnosis is based on anamnesis, somatic and neurological status, results of laboratory and functional tests, as well as consultations with other specialists - cardiologists, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons, orthopedists, etc.
The following diagnostic procedures are performed: blood tests, radiography, CT, EMG, EEG, evoked potentials, Doppler sonography and others, depending on the needs of each patient.
The treatment is done with modern medications according to established criteria for each disease, in a fast and efficient system of drug delivery.
The department maintains professional contacts with rehabilitation and balneo-sanatorium centers - Pavel Banya, Ovcha mogila, Banya and others. and with hospices on the territory of the Pleven region for further treatment and more acute care for chronically ill.
